| During the past 24 hours, solar activity was moderate. Ten active sunspot regions were on the visible disk with one M-class flare produced. Due to the continuous effect of the CME, the solar wind speed reached a peak of about 540 km/s. The geomagnetic field reached minor strom levels for 3 hours and active levels for 9 hours. | ||

| Within the next three days, solar activity is expected to be mainly moderate with chances for M-class flares. The geomagnetic field is expected to be mainly quiet to unsettled on 3 Jan and reach active to minor strom levels on 4-5 Jan due to the effects of CME from 1 Jan and coronal hole high speed stream. | ||
